I just saw online that Matt Chandler, a pastor who I follow and admire a great deal will undergo surgery this Friday to try and remove a brain tumor in his frontal lobe.
Also, a couple on Young Life committee with Hannah and I recently lost their 8 week old son for no known reason and family friends of ours who are amazing, God-fearing parents found their 16 year old son had committed suicide.
And all this has happened in the last two weeks. What on earth is going on!
All three of these cases are example of Godly people who are experiencing unbelievable trial and hardship. It would be easy to say that God is not in control but he is. He is doing something bigger and better than the hardship at hand, something that will make the trial worth it in the end.
Likely we won't know what the bigger and better this side of eternity but we must cling to the unshakable sovereignty, goodness and power of our God.
